When the boxing history books are written and filed - and Irish legends are assigned to folklore forever. One man will be a guaranteed stand out and that of course is the 'Pocket Rocket' Wayne McCullough.
A career that saw him fight the very best in the business - Arturo Gatti, Erik Morales, Yasuei Yakushiji, José Luis Bueno, Prince Nazeem Hamed, Daniel Zaragoza, Joel Casemeyor. INdeed the fights he didnt win - he worked himself almost to within an inch of his life. As an amateur he represented both Ireland and Northern Ireland - winning a Gold Medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Aukland and of course who could ever forget that historical Olympic Final tussle in 1992 with - ironically another legend who will be inducted to the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame this weekend with him - Joel Casemeyor.
He went on to win the historical WBC Green belt by defeating Yasuei Yakushiji in his native Japan and fought another 6 times for world titles before calling time on a glittering career in 2008.
This weekend he will be inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame at the Red Rock Casino Resort in Las Vegas where the great and good of world boxing will gather to pay homage to Wayne and his fellow inductees.
